Our Services

At Elddir, we believe user-centred and sustainable design should sit behind every decision, not just the final product.

Alongside our Safer-Cap technology, we offer specialist services built on over a decade of experience in service design, user research, and applied design in healthcare, industry and academia.

Services

Design & Research Services

Service Design for Safe Use & Adherence

Inclusive Packaging & Product Design

We help you make products, services and systems safer and easier to use.

We support manufacturers, healthcare organisations and public bodies to improve how people store, handle and use everyday products – from medicines to household items – especially where arthritis, ageing or disability are in the mix.

You can work with us on:

  • short workshops and capability-building sessions

  • focused audits of specific products, journeys or problem areas

  • end-to-end design and research programmes for higher-risk or strategic projects

We keep the work practical, evidence-informed and proportionate to your stage and resources.

Inclusive Packaging & Product Design

Service Design for Safe Use & Adherence

Inclusive Packaging & Product Design

For teams who need new or improved physical products.

We help you design and refine physical products and components, with a focus on accessibility and age-friendly use.

We offer:

  • Concept design for products and mechanisms, with particular attention to low-force, intuitive use for older adults and people with reduced dexterity.

  • Accessibility reviews and redesigns of existing products (e.g. closures, dispensers, handheld devices, storage solutions).

  • Support from sketch to prototype, including CAD, simple mechanical mock-ups and guidance for transfer to your manufacturing partners.

We don’t do graphics, apps or web design. Our strength is making physical products easier and safer to use, and giving your engineers and manufacturers clear, practical input rather than a “black box” design.

Service Design for Safe Use & Adherence

For organisations that want to fix the whole experience, not just one touchpoint.

We help you understand and redesign how people move through real-world journeys – across products, spaces and services.

We look at things like:

  • End-to-end journeys – how people discover, choose, receive, use and maintain your products or services.

  • Risk and friction points – where instructions, handovers, labelling or storage/usage habits break down.

  • Support around the core experience – interactions with staff, reminders, follow-up, and how carers or colleagues get involved.

Typical outputs include journey maps, simple service blueprints and clear, prioritised recommendations your teams can act on. We focus on practical improvements, not big-bang “transformation” programmes.

Workshops, Training & Co-Design

Desk-Based Research & Evidence Reviews

Service Design for Safe Use & Adherence

For teams who want to build internal capability.

We run practical sessions for R&D, product, packaging, compliance and marketing teams, focused on real products and real users.

We offer:

  • Inclusive design workshops – hands-on sessions using real products and scenarios to spot issues and generate improvements.

  • Co-design sessions with users – structured activities bringing people with arthritis, carers and clinicians into your design process.

  • Short introductory trainings on:

    • designing for arthritis and ageing

    • child-resistant vs senior-friendly requirements

    • integrating sustainability without sacrificing usability

Workshops can be delivered on-site or online, and are typically tailored for 6–20 participants. We keep them practical, evidence-informed and grounded in what your team can realistically change.

User Research & Human-Factors Testing

Desk-Based Research & Evidence Reviews

Desk-Based Research & Evidence Reviews

For teams who need evidence, not assumptions.

We help you understand how real people use physical products and services – especially when ageing, arthritis or disability are in the mix.

We work with:

  • Older adults and people with reduced dexterity

  • People with visual or cognitive impairments

  • Carers, clinicians and pharmacists involved in day-to-day use

What we do:

  • Exploratory research – short interviews and observations to uncover real behaviours and workarounds

  • Usability testing – task-based tests (e.g. open–use–reclose / set-up–use–store), with simple time, effort and error measures

  • Study design & insight reporting – practical protocols and clear, prioritised recommendations for your design team

We don’t design apps, graphics or websites. Our focus is human factors for physical products and service journeys, and we understand how the evidence we generate can support internal decisions and, where needed, feed into regulatory files.

You can engage us to run small, focused studies end-to-end, or to co-design protocols that your own teams or academic partners deliver.

Desk-Based Research & Evidence Reviews

Desk-Based Research & Evidence Reviews

Desk-Based Research & Evidence Reviews

For teams who need to know what’s out there.

We carry out structured, qualitative desk research to help you make informed decisions without starting from scratch.

We can support with:

  • Standards and regulatory mapping – plain-language summaries of what BS EN ISO 8317, BS EN 14375 and related guidance imply for your packs and processes (not legal advice).

  • Literature reviews – focused scans of evidence on poisoning, adherence, ageing, accessibility and related topics.

  • Competitor and market scans – who is doing what in inclusive, child-resistant and sustainable packaging, and how they position it.

Deliverables are usually short evidence briefs or slide decks that decision-makers can absorb quickly and use to steer design, investment or compliance discussions.

Are we right for you?
