 At Elddir Ltd we’re redesigning child-resistant packaging so it works for everyone – protecting children while remaining usable for people living with arthritis and reduced hand strength. Our mission is to create packaging that combines safety, accessibility and sustainability for medicines and high-risk household products.

We are currently raising £150,000–£240,000 under SEIS to complete key testing, strengthen our IP position and secure the first licensing and commercial partnerships for our Safer-Cap closure and follow-on products.

• Patent-protected technology
  European patent granted (EP4313794) for the Safer-Cap mechanism, with PCT applications progressing in the US, Canada and India.
   
• Clear, growing market need
  Over 10 million people in the UK live with arthritis, and thousands of children are hospitalised each year after accidental poisoning from medicines and chemicals. Packaging that is both child-resistant and arthritis-friendly is still rare.
   
• Capital-efficient, IP-led model
  We are working to license Safer-Cap to packaging manufacturers and pharma/OTC brands, rather than building our own factories, and complement this with selected Elddir-branded products and design services.
   
• Evidence-driven and standards-aligned
  Our designs are built around BS EN ISO 8317 child-resistance principles and human-factors testing with people living with arthritis, with university and NHS partners engaged for upcoming studies.
   
• Tax-efficient opportunity (SEIS)
  SEIS advanced assurance is in place, offering eligible UK investors income tax relief and potential loss relief on their investment.
   
• Early validation & traction
  £93k already secured (MedTech SuperConnector grant + equity), European patent granted, multiple UCL student consultancy projects completed, and early user testing demonstrating rapid opening for people with arthritis while maintaining strong child resistance.

 We’re looking for more than funders, we’re looking for partners who can help us bring safer, more accessible packaging into everyday use. 

Back a patent-protected, SEIS-eligible company with a capital-light licensing model, clear regulatory pathway and multiple revenue streams (licensing, B2C products, design services). We’re happy to share our pitch deck, financial model and detailed use-of-funds on request.

Work with us to design and run studies with people living with arthritis, older adults, families and clinicians. We collaborate closely with universities and health organisations to generate robust evidence on safety, usability and impact.
