A little about us

  

Joint pain affects us all at times, but for over 10 million people in the UK living with arthritis, it’s a daily barrier.



 

Everyday products like medicine bottles, cleaning supplies, and food packaging weren’t designed with reduced grip strength in mind turning essential tasks into painful challenges.

Our Mission

  

At Elddir, we’re redesigning packaging so independence isn’t lost to poor design.


Our patented, low-friction child-resistant closures remove the need for squeezing, pushing, or painful twisting, staying safe for children while finally becoming accessible for adults.
By combining intelligent mechanical engineering with cognitive design principles, we’re building products that work for people, not against them.


 

 Good design should protect children without punishing adults.
Our Safer-Cap allows effortless opening for people with arthritis or reduced grip strength,  while remaining securely child-resistant.

With more than 10 million adults affected by arthritis in the UK and over 25,000 children under five hospitalised each year from accidental poisoning or chemical exposure, the need for better packaging is urgent.


Through user-centred and simulation-based design, we’re building packaging that restores independence and keeps families safe.

In 2020, Elddir Ltd. joined the prestigious MedTech Superconnector program, securing funding and support to develop and protect our innovative Safer-Cap design. Since then, we have been working to  conduct extensive testing, demonstrating our product's effectiveness for individuals with joint and muscle conditions while maintaining safety for children.
